Breaking the Cycle. If not now, when?
Win a ticket to FloydFest!
We all have habits and behaviors that don’t serve us particularly well. In so many ways, contemplative practice is about breaking cycles like these. So this #NOWvember we are celebrating some of the great work we’ve been doing to help break the cycles of addiction, burnout, isolation, and more.
And we’re asking for your support to help us continue digging deeper into serving the people, workplaces and communities who are benefitting from our work. In return, you could win a ticket to FloydFest, and you’ll certainly be glad in the knowledge that you are helping make a mindful world for all possible.
This is what we’ll be sharing this #NOWvember:
- Week 1, Breaking Cycles: There are many reasons to be anxious today, and InStill is addressing some of these with the following programming:
- Contemplative Life Skills: Our new program at the NRV Juvenile Detention Home aims to help break the cycle of intergenerational trauma.
- Daily Meditations: These live online guided practices, along with many of the other classes we offer and the InStill Mindfulness online community, give participants the opportunity to develop the necessary awareness to break internal cycles that have been impeding their personal growth.
- Being With Loss: This grief support group gives participants the opportunity to work through the many stages of grief, and to break a cycle that haunts many.
- Week 2, Breaking the Cycle of Addiction: Many people today are dealing with overwork and overwhelm, which InStill addresses with the following programs:
- Peer Recovery: Our Peer Recovery team has grown from one team member to five in the past year. In that time we’ve supported nearly 250 individuals through almost 1,500 peer visits, including roughly 250 connections to food and clothing, 200 to housing, and 100 rides to critical appointments. About 20% of participants have also been linked to professional mental health care.
- Week 3, Breaking the Cycle of Burnout: Our peer support and harm reduction programs in Pulaski are fast becoming our flagship as we impact hundreds of lives in the Pulaski community:
- iSAT and InSide: Our Inner Situational Awareness Training (iSAT) and InSide programs benefit members of our law enforcement community. Many participants have called our training ‘life changing,’ as it is also likely to be for their colleagues, family members, and even prisoners;
- Positive Leadership and InSupport: These team building and leadership programs help participants experience more value and less overwhelm in the work environment, while building more effective teams; and
- InSchools: InStill has worked with K-12 Professionals in seven local school divisions, positively impacting schools, classrooms, colleagues and families along the way.
- Week 4, Breaking the Cycle of Isolation: The U.S. Surgeon General has declared a national loneliness and social isolation epidemic, in which about half of our nation’s adults are experiencing excessive levels of loneliness. Some of the ways we are addressing this issue include:
- InSpire Mindfulness Gatherings: These 12 in-person and online gatherings small communities give participants the opportunity to connect deeply with one another, and to develop greater resilience within themselves.
Your support helps make substantial changes to the lives of many through these programs.
We simply can’t do it without you. As a nonprofit, we rely on tax-deductible donations from people like yourself to make all this possible.
So we’re asking you to help us cultivate a mindful world for all this #NOWvember by making a tax-deductible donation to InStill.
But we want to give you some extra incentive too:
-
We are delighted to announce a $10,000 matching challenge from two of our biggest supporters, who will match you—dollar for dollar—for the first $10,000 raised in this campaign! and
- One lucky donor during our NOWvember campaign will win a ticket to FloydFest, valued at nearly $400!
Could it be you?
