Good Morning Ms. Giovanni,
I’m a first time author who writes poems, spoken word and short stories. I’ve participated in an online poetry event as well as a live Juneteenth presentation at a church outing in Newark, New Jersey. I was also welcomed back this year to present. I’m in the process of writing an autobiography and participated in a short story contest that I didn’t win, however, I will participated until my work gets noticed because I know I am good enough to compete with the best of them. I’m not bragging, I’m simply coming out of the shadows of others who thought I could never accomplish what I’ve already completed in my life. I grew up shy with a stuttering problem. I lived a life of people talking me out of my gift and started believing it. Today, I humbly want to follow your teaching in hopes of becoming half the woman you are. Thank you for your wonderful poems and I pray one day I would be able to meet you to simply say, thank your for your words of inspiration and the ability to come into my own because the gift that I have I need to share with the world. Thank you.
