Lori Trail

Lori Trail serves as the NRV Recovery Court Coordinator through New River Valley Community Services (NRVCS), where she has been an advocate for individuals navigating substance use recovery within the criminal justice system since being involved in piloting the first Drug Treatment Court in Pulaski County in 2014. Lori has earned a place on the Virginia Supreme Court Specialty Dockets Division’s Wall of Fame, and was read into the U.S. Congressional Record by Senator Tim Kaine, when he commended her commitment to establishing Recovery Court programs in the NRV. Lori has served in multiple roles since joining NRVCS in 2009, including Intensive Care Coordinator and mental health screener at the New River Valley Regional Jail. Previously, she led the Office on Youth in Montgomery County from 2000-2009, supervising Community Crime Control Programs for court-involved youth and serving on the Board of Directors for New River Community Action. Her career began as a Juvenile Probation Officer with the 27th District Court Service Unit. Lori holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University.
