Mindfulness and Grief: Dealing with Change, Death and Loss
February 10, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
In our lives, we all encounter change, loss and death, along with the grief that arises from such experiences. Mindfulness can help us to acknowledge and work with our grief, supporting our ability to heal and to move forward. In this daylong retreat, we will create a container to support one another, connecting and finding hope in the midst of working with grief.
Grief is a natural response to loss and change, and may manifest physically, emotionally, cognitively, and/or behaviorally. We welcome anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one, or with changes in health, occupation, relationship status/divorce, lifestyle, identity, expectations, dreams, or other life transitions. It is important to learn how to acknowledge and honor death, grief, and loss. Mindful Meditation for grief and loss does not change what has happened, but it can help you care for yourself with openness, acceptance, kindness, and resiliency. We’ll explore how mindfulness can help with a variety of the symptoms associated with the grieving process. We will also bring in heartfulness and compassion practices to support the loss and grief process.
Following the one day retreat, we will offer a two-hour virtual meet up session, to check in with everyone and offer an additional mindful practice for supporting us all in the face of grief and loss. We will schedule this with the group, sometime during the week of Feb. 24.
